The Quaich Project at West Princes Street Gardens represents the next evolutionary chapter in the story of one of Edinburgh’s most famous landmark locations. Our vision is to reimagine this historic place as a space for all to celebrate and enjoy in new ways – with dynamic architectural designs and innovative facilities – all the time being respectful to the people, wildlife, landscape and heritage of Scotland’s capital.
Like the traditional Scottish sharing cup from which it takes its name, The Quaich Project aims to bring people together to celebrate Edinburgh’s status as one the world’s most beautiful, welcoming and vibrant capitals – generating new connections both locally and internationally.
By offering improved access and a wide range of facilities, all members of the community will be able to appreciate and enjoy the gardens. From improved amenities such as children’s playparks and public toilets to open-air stages and public seating, every element of the design has been considered to offer accessibility and inclusivity – connecting the city in new ways while also blending in seamlessly and working in harmony with the natural environment.
